Internship

Internship

The Özyeğin University Library offers internship opportunities for students studying Library and Information Science.

  • Internship applications are accepted every January and February.
  • Interested students must follow the OzU Library’s internship announcements, and submit their internship applications within the announced application period to library@ozyegin.edu.tr  together with their resumes.
  • Applicants are invited for an interview and informed about the result of their application with an email notification.
  • The Library hires up to 3 interns.
  • Internships are completed in summer (June-August) within the dates set by the Library.
  • Internship benefits also include food and transportation.
  • All days of internship are planned by the Library, and weekly schedules are sent to the interns on Mondays.
  • During internship, the Library endeavors to introduce the interns to all units of the University, and have them organize meetings, perform all library practices,  attend the Library’s meetings, events, and training program to make observations, have detailed information about ongoing projects, and meet with the relevant figures in the key areas and hot trends of the profession.
  • Interns are also encouraged to play an active role in the Library’s ongoing practices and projects.

Interns are expected to demonstrate thrill and excitement for their professions, and be dynamic and proactive. By the end of internship, the interns are expected to have obtained an overall understanding of university librarianship. They will be acquainted with key career paths within or outside the OzU Library. They will be familiarized with or take an active part in different areas of practice within the Library so that they will have a clear idea about their own interests and skills to shape their own career development.
