“In Search of a New Corporate Governance Paradigm” Workshop Held at Özyeğin University
The “In Search of a New Corporate Governance Paradigm: Translating Global Trends into Institutional Realities” workshop was held on Friday, October 23, 2026, hosted by Özyeğin University in collaboration with Bilkent University, Sabancı University, Koç University, and NASAMER.
Bringing together scholars from law, economics, management, and finance, the workshop provided a platform for interdisciplinary discussions on global developments and emerging approaches in corporate governance, with a particular focus on how these developments can be translated into institutional practices.
The workshop opened with remarks by Prof. Dr. Melsa Ararat, followed by a keynote speech by George Dallas (ICGN). The afternoon program began with remarks by Prof. Dr. İrşadi Aksun, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Impact at Özyeğin University.
Throughout the workshop, participants discussed current developments and challenges in corporate governance, focusing on external and internal governance mechanisms, sustainability, corporate purpose, and political economy.
These discussions contributed to strengthening academic exchange across disciplines and provided a valuable opportunity to explore new avenues for research and collaboration in corporate governance.
We would like to thank all the speakers, participants, and colleagues who contributed to the organization and success of this academic event.
We look forward to continuing these discussions at the conference we plan to organize in 2027.
