Haas, titled: “Challenges to Expertise”: Governments rely extensively on expertise, and arguably many of the major accomplishments of world politics over the last 50 years reflect the ideas and involvement of experts. Yet expertise in international relations is increasingly contested. What are the factors which have influenced states willingness to defer to experts and expertise, and what is the future of expert governance in world politics?
