Welcome to the web page of the Undergraduate Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program offered by the Özyeğin University School of Applied Sciences.
Our objective is to foster dynamic and entrepreneurial graduates with in-depth know-how and acceptable level of experience about local and global cuisine, vested with required skills and capabilities either to work at international hotel chains, prestigious restaurants, internationally recognized cruisers, airline food producers and catering firms or to create new jobs both for themselves and their society by starting and managing their own restaurants as an SME. Thus we aspire to increase the life standards of the society by improving the balance between those with on-the-job training and those with formal education in favor of well-educated professionals.
Our Undergraduate Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program was launched as one of its kind in Turkey, offering a solid foundation not only in culinary arts but also in restaurant management pursuant to the resolution rendered during the Higher Education Executive Board Meeting held on March 14, 2012.
Gastronomy and restaurant management has been gaining popularity in Turkey and around the globe. Furthermore due to the lack of well-educated, qualified and highly-experienced human resources in this domain, gastronomy and restaurant management is also a very attractive field of business, especially for the young generation.
Taking pride in its exceptional faculty with academic depth and expertise as well as extensive industry experience, the Undergraduate Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program offered by the Özyeğin University School of Applied Sciences aims to educate future chefs and restaurant managers at international hotel chains and prestigious restaurants, possessing entrepreneurial, innovative, and problem solving characteristics, enhanced with practical skills and know-how, leading to the creation of added-value upon successful completion of the academic degree in a well-designed career path.
I would like to invite everyone that wishes to be a part of this set of values to join our academic program, and I strongly recommend you to visit our web page for further details about our program.
We will work diligently and devotedly to leave a good taste in mouths, a long-lasting mark in the gastronomy world and a meaningful future for everyone.
